Watch repair in Delhi, done at the bench
A watch that has stopped, gained time or taken a knock needs diagnosis before anything else. We open it, find the fault, and tell you what it will cost and how long it will take.
Repair starts with diagnosis
Bring the watch in and we open the case back under a loupe. Most faults show themselves quickly. A broken mainspring, a worn pivot, a balance wheel that will not swing, a stem that has snapped inside the crown. Damp gets in past a tired gasket and leaves rust on the movement. We check the escapement, the train, the winding work and the dial side before we say a word about cost. Then you get a free estimate, quoted upfront, with an estimated timeframe. Nothing is touched beyond that point until you say yes.
Quartz, mechanical and vintage
Quartz faults are often electrical: a dead coil, a corroded circuit, a train wheel gummed with old oil. Mechanical faults are mechanical. Mainsprings break, pivots wear their holes oval, and jewels crack. Vintage pieces ask for more patience, since parts are scarce and a broken part is sometimes made or refitted by hand rather than ordered. Luxury calibres get the same care and the same slow hands. We work on quartz, mechanical and vintage watches alike, and we will tell you plainly if a repair is not worth doing on your piece.
Coming to us from Delhi-NCR
Our bench is in South Delhi, on Bandh Road, open every day from nine to six. Walk in with the watch and we will take a look at it there and then. For antique clocks and larger pieces we come to you anywhere in Delhi-NCR, since a longcase movement travels badly. Call (+91) 8700956690 or write to [email protected] before you set out, so someone is expecting you. Fifty years and more of repair work sits behind this bench, and we stand behind what leaves it.
About watch repair
Do you charge for looking at my watch?
No. Estimates are free on all repairs. We open the watch, diagnose the fault and quote the cost upfront, along with an estimated timeframe for the work. If you decide not to go ahead, we close the case and hand it back as it came in. There is nothing to pay.
Can you repair a luxury watch?
Yes. We work on luxury mechanical and quartz calibres the same way we work on anything else: carefully, at the bench, with the case opened only in clean conditions. Fifty years of repair work covers a great many movements. If a piece needs a part we cannot source or safely make, we will say so rather than improvise.
My watch is old and spare parts are not made any more. Is it still repairable?
Often, yes. Vintage repair leans on salvaged parts and careful refitting by hand. A worn pivot can be reshaped, a bushing pressed into a worn hole, a broken staff replaced. We will open it, see what is actually wrong and tell you honestly whether the watch can run reliably again before you commit to anything.
